Xbox app now available on LG TVs: Play Call of Duty without a console

Back in January, Microsoft teased that Xbox gaming would soon come to LG Smart TVs. That time has officially arrived. The Xbox app on LG TV is now live, giving LG users the ability to stream titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Hogwarts Legacy, and more—no Xbox console required.

The app works on LG Smart TVs and select monitors running webOS 24 or newer. You’ll find it via the LG Apps interface or the built-in Gaming Portal. Just pair any supported controller and you’re good to go.

To start playing, you’ll need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. That unlocks a huge catalog of games from publishers like Bethesda, Mojang, Blizzard, and Xbox Game Studios. You can even stream certain titles you already own, such as NBA 2K25, without needing to buy them again.

The Xbox app on LG TV supports game streaming in 25 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Germany, and more. LG’s newer OLED and QNED TVs also support 4K upscaled gameplay, making them a solid match for cloud-based titles.

This rollout follows Microsoft’s January announcement, where it hinted that native Xbox cloud gaming would expand beyond consoles and PCs. With the feature now live, LG Smart TV owners finally get a real taste of that console-free future.
